Résumé

For more than twenty years, integrated approaches have been developed in the framework of several research projects, mainly concerning the protohistoric and antique settlements of Bourgogne Franche-Comté. These multi-method and multi-scalar developments have followed the progression of archaeological issues, but also technological and instrumental developments, leading today to a proven methodology that is still in constant evolution. We will therefore attempt to draw up a rapid overview of these main developments, from the definition of a founding methodology at Authumes (Saône-et-Loire) to the large-scale experiment carried out at Epomanduodurum (Mandeure, Doubs). We will outline the main stages of a gradual development that has led to a methodology that is now indispensable in the archaeological research process. Finally, we will present an initial overview of its application in the study of the extension and spatial organisation of the open Latenian agglomeration of Petit Chauvort at Verdun-sur-le-Doubs, work carried out as part of the Collective Research Project “The Saône/Doubs Confluence in the Iron Age”.
